It’s time to meet Alex – lover of people, community, and collaboration! Through her own journey of exploring tender parts of her story and overcoming postpartum anxiety and depression, she was reminded of the profound importance of self-love, self-care, sharing our stories, and the strength we gain from our communities.
This realization was the driving force behind The Co., to meet you where you are through a series of self-care initiatives like The CoSpective, a community Q&A series designed to provide support, tools, and resources for personal growth, mental health, and navigating life’s challenges. In this series, questions from our community are answered by a dynamic team of mental wellness & somatic practitioners, known as The Advocates, and YOU, our vibrant community!

The Relatable Learner
You know that expression, "If you've met her, you'd love her"? Well, that perfectly describes Holly. She's an absolute delight, a true gem, and she's also the owner and teacher at The Relatable Learner in Carthage!
Let’s Meet Holly
Holly specializes in providing quality education to students with unique academic and functional needs. She creates programs, activities, and experiences that allow students to gain access to specific skills and concepts needed to be successful. Think of her as your specialized tutor for children aged 3+. If you’re seeking guidance on implementing your child's Individualized Education Program (IEP) at home or integrating it seamlessly into play activities, Holly offers personalized 1:1 sessions and playgroups at The Relatable Learner to do just that. Additionally, you might also meet Lilah, her aspiring certified reading therapy dog, during these sessions!
While courses take place between September—May, 1:1s will still take place through summer breaks. She also conducts parent consultations (60 minutes) via in-person, phone, or virtual platform to answer any and all questions regarding support for your child. These questions could range anywhere from what the IEP process entails, how to select a school aligned with your child’s needs, or even which decodables you should purchase to read at home with your child.
The Connection Corner
If you happen to be a mom on the lookout for a nurturing environment where your child can thrive through mindfulness and movement, The Connection Corner is the perfect spot for you. Here, Kelly, the driving force behind this enchanting space, is conjuring pure 🌟 magic 🌟 for children and teens nestled in Downtown Southern Pines!
Offerings at The Connection Corner range from Yoga & Mindfulness, Mixed-Age Process Art, Mindfulness & Sensory Play, and Pop-Up OT and Speech Therapy Groups (plus more!!) all guided by certified and experienced teachers and therapists. Additionally, you can sign up for Mini-Series & Workshops, as well as their upcoming Summer Camps scheduled from June to August.
All facets of this setting are designed to serve children of all ages, stages, and abilities, with a steadfast focus on nurturing mind-body connections, fostering creativity, and boosting social-emotional, physical, and mental well-being.
A highlight among the offerings is Kelly's personal touch in teaching yoga and mindfulness. From leading small groups to organizing camps and individual sessions; Kelly also passionately extends the benefits of yoga and mindfulness to local schools like The Garden Montessori, Wild Hearts Nature School, and Ladybug Farm.

I’m so eager to introduce you all to Gina and Roxanne. These women have reshaped my outlook on gym time, enabling me to embrace it without guilt. Instead, I’ve learned to share this experience with my kids!
Let’s Meet Gina & Roxanne of Mamastefit
Co-Founders and sisters, Gina Conley and Roxanne Albert, created MamasteFit in 2017. MamasteFit is a prenatal and postnatal fitness training facility that supports you throughout your entire motherhood journey. You may recognize them from their Instagram page, @mamstefit, that offers tons of free content educating on pregnancy, birth, and recovery postpartum!
Come workout with them and bring your baby and small kids to socialize and play as you find your strength in motherhood. MamasteFit offers training in a relaxed environment so you can learn HOW to lift weights without the intimidation of a large gym setting. Monthly memberships are $99 and include 24/7 gym access, programming in their app, and your partner is welcome to workout at our gym at no additional charge. Think of it as a two-for-one membership!
