Moore County Playgrounds & Parks

A little Glimpse of our Favorite Local Parks & Libraries

Rassie Wicker

Address: 10 Rassie Wicker Dr Pinehurst, NC 28374

Amenities: Pavilions, Bathrooms, Soccer Fields, Walking Trails, Playground, Swings, Splash pad (seasonal), accessible parking

What we love: The trails next to the playground make a beautiful morning or afternoon of both seeking nature and also burning some energy on a beautiful playground with loads of interactive features. You could also try another adventure- park at Pinehurst village and grab a cup of coffee at the Roast Office or a Cupcake and C.Cups and make the short fully-side-walked journey to the playground (about 1.5 miles round trip)

Aberdeen Lake Park

Address: 301 Lake Park Crossing Aberdeen, NC 28315

Amenities: Bathrooms, Green Space, Fishing, Walking Trails, Playground, Swings, accessible parking

What we love: the walking trail around the lake is a great start to a fun adventure with the kids, as it begins and ends at the playground. We also love the multiple little libraries on site for a break between play and snacks!

Camelot Playground

Address: 90 Woods Rd Pinehurst, NC 28374

Amenities: Pavilion, Multiple athletic fields, Bathrooms, Playground, Swings, accessible parking

What we love: Probably the most loved park in town, this playground screams unique play with its wooden castle design and flare. Kids can spend hours exploring all the climbing features and hidden rooms.

Downtown Playground - Southern Pines

Address: 145 SE Broad St Southern Pines, NC 28387

Amenities: Pavilion, Bathrooms, Playground, Basketball courts, Tennis Courts, accessible parking

What we love: Location, Location, Location! It’s right in the heart of Southern Pines, so a day of play, eating, and shopping is inevitable. We also love the playground itself- with two playgrounds, lots of swings, and even a giant sandbox (don’t forget your beach toys to share!)

Moore County Parks & Rec Center, Hillcrest park

Address: 155 Hillcrest Ln Carthage, NC 28327

Amenities: Pavilions, Baseball Fields, Basketball Courts, Playground, Splash Pad (seasonal), tons of readily accessible parking

What we love: The splash pad is pure summer joy- best in town for certain! Off season though, we can’t get over the playgrounds (yes, there are three!) for kids of all ages to enjoy.

Sandhurst Playground

Address: 134 Barcroft Ct. Southern Pines, NC 28387

Amenities: Pavilion, Bathrooms, Green Space, Playground, limited parking

What we love: The green space at this park is its selling feature. Plenty of room for running, ball-kicking and kite flying! Also, this park houses some super close to the playground bathrooms for the parent of multiples or potty-training kiddos.

Campbell House Playground

Address: 482 E Connecticut Ave. Southern Pines, NC 28387

Amenities: Basketball court (great for scooters and biking), Playground, Readily accessible parking

What we love: The courts on site are great for toddlers learning to ride especially since this playground tends to be a little less crowded. The playground itself is great, with a section geared towards the younger bunch as well.

Phillips Memorial Playground

Address: 189 Carthage St Cameron, NC 28326

Amenities: Pavilions, Bathrooms, walking trails around a beautiful lake, two playgrounds, lots of readily accessible parking

What we love: The views are gorgeous around this massive pond and nature space. Playground is “train themed” so if you have any kiddos who love them, this is good! Another fun little thing is less than a mile down the road you can check out the recently re-opened Dewberry Cafe for a great local bite after play!

Foxfire Village Green Park Playground

Address: 8 S Shamrock Dr. Jackson NC 27281

Amenities: Pavilions, bathrooms, walking trails, playground, swings, readily accessible parking

What we love: The playground itself is super unique and hosts a bridge that the kiddos love. Geared towards toddlers- the play set and swings feel safe and ready for play.

We love our map by Lauren — and now you can grab one for yourself! Perfect for kids' rooms and they make amazing birthday gifts, too.
