Southern Pines Public Library

Southern Pines Library offers weekly Early Childhood Programs for ages birth-5. An active library card is required for Baby Rhymes and Music and Motion. As a Moore Co. resident, it’s so easy to obtain!

Location: Southern Pines Library
125 SE Broad Street
Southern Pines, NC 28387

Cost: Free!

Ages:

  • Baby Rhymes (birth-2 years)

    • Tuesday mornings at 10:15 a.m. and a duplicate session at 10:45 a.m.

    • Their Baby Rhymes program is designed for their youngest patrons and their caregivers. Repetition and comforting movements make this storytime perfect for early development, interaction, and emotional growth.

  • Learn and Play (babies and toddlers)

    • Wednesdays, 10-12pm

    • An open play date for your babies and toddlers in the library. Enjoy exploring age-appropriate toys and books and socializing with new friends. Literacy tips and activities will be displayed for you to incorporate into your playtime routine at home.

  • Music and Motion (2-5 years)

    • Thursdays at 10:15 a.m. and duplicate sessions at 10:45 and 3:30p.m.

    • This storytime is great for your "big kid" (ages 2-5) who is ready to move, dance, listen, and play! We read and sing together, and we develop fine and gross motor skills with scarves, shakers, rhythm sticks, music, and dance.

My thoughts: I’m fairly certain they win Best of the Pines almost every year, highly recommend it!
